So we are now in the last month of Autumn, and oh how I love Autumn.... has to be my favourite season (as long as the sun is shining). I'm kind of like a solar run person and don't operate well without my naturally assisted vitamin D lol. On another note, I SURVIVED THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS - YAY!!! Running two weeks from easter, with quite a bit of cloud cover, I made it! We visited a few places we hadn't yet been down here in South Canterbury, as want to make the most of our last weeks here. As you'll see below, we got out in the bush (in the rain) over easter and also visited the Steam Punk Museum in Oamaru. Plus a spot of fishing in the middle of the holidays took us up near Twizel and Lake Pukaki, such an amazing place, I love our country so much! We did other things too, but made sure I wasn't over the top taking my camera with me too much (it annoys the kidlets at times, and I understand that). Hope you enjoy a little bit of us :) Steam Punk Museum, Oamaru Our most recent family photo - thanks to the mirrors inside the Portal With a quick stop at one of the lakes past Kurow, we head out to the beautiful Twizel area and views of Mt. Cook...... I hate this picture of me, yet love it at the same time..... I'm attempting a nice selfie with my hubby, but well.... as you see he's not looking (he hates his photo and is quite private). I'm struggling to hold my hefty camera and lens out far enough so it focuses and in my typical husband style he pulled my top out for a 'sneaky glimpse' - so this is us.... soooo us..... oh my goodness....... chins and all I gave up, this was as good as it gets! We even did the tourist thing for the kids and went and fed the salmon... We had a lovely warm sunny day, and then sat and fished and watched shooting stars that night in the very clear and sparkling sky....... simply perfect! (next time, I'll try to remember my tripod so I can capture that amazing milky way up there too!)

The week of Monday 13th February, Christchurch was hit with massive fires so come the end of the week when many of us wanted lovely sunshine, we were also grateful for rain. With that said, this wonderful couple, Victoria and Daniel weren't fazed by the weather or anything... it'll be what it'll be, and because of that, we had sunshine and dry spells for the rest of the day. Victoria and Daniel had planned most of their amazing day from the UK and wow, what a day we had. We even had time to head into the city center after the ceremony to get photos with the Tram Carriage. Met some crazy fun people and almost everyone waved at their car (and called out congratulations), was almost like following royalty. Back to the gardens to catch up with the bridal party, then 'well oiled' structure by Daniel with the family group photos. The lovely reception was held at the amazing information center and there were even bets going on with the speeches. What an amazing day, followed by an amazing night. With Daniel and Victoria now back in the UK, I wish you all the best for your future together and a big cuddle to Ella. A quick visit into the boys at Chateau on the Park.......... Back to the Pavilion to catch up with the girls for the finishing touches.... Then dad arrived...... and we got a few quick shots (in the bar) before heading away to the ceremony The ceremony was held at St. Teresa of Lisieux Parish Then off to meet the tram...... and ran into some fun ...... and I couldn't resist this amazing store front before heading back to the botanic gardens.... Then a round of fun speeches, eating amazing food, cutting the cake and dancing the night away! Soooooo while I've been quiet on the business front (nearly wedding season), my family and I have had a busy month! So another personal blog from me, with lots of fun..... Skiing, walks and butterflies! We had a family ski trip to Roundhill ski field near Tekapo - first time the kids have been to an actual ski field (and not just snow on the roadside) and in all honesty, first time I've been to a ski field since I was at hmmmm.... intermediate level schooling maybe? We didn't ski this time, but OMG, we tobogganed (my first time) and it was soooo much fun, the only part I think they could improve on is a ski lift/pull thingy for the toboggan users so we don't have to walk back up the slope again (even if its not that big hahahaha). We had a lot of fun on the slopes then headed down to Tekapo for some touristy sightseeing before heading back to Timaru for dinner. The following weekend, my hubby planned a day trip for us to Peel Forest, near Geraldine. Now we lived in Ashburton for quite a few years....... but not once did we visit this amazing place! Wow, we all loved it there and can't wait to go back again. Only did a few smaller walks as we spent time tiki touring there and back that day (and stopped at a lovely choccy shop in Geraldine) and then....... to top it off, last weekend we took the kids down to the Butterfly house at the Dunedin Museum....... I LOVE that museum, and love the butterfly house, even if I did begin to melt in the high temps and high humidity! Unfortunately we didn't have time to do everything in the museum (next time I'm sure) as we had a strict time table to adhere to - you see, the Tasman Makos were playing Otago down there in the stadium, and since the hubby is a big fan, and the kids have never been to watch a game in a stadium before...... that was the highlight for us grown ups!!! I didn't take my camera into the stadium, but did take a little pic of the rest of the family with my cell phone (you know, proof we were there lol) P.S... I like BIG spiders, I don't actually have to deal with big spiders here in NZ, so I'm sure I wouldn't feel the same if I lived for say in Australia, but from the comfort of NZ, I LOVE these amazing creatures! So, this blog does feature some large hairy spiders....... sorry! Damien even bought his shark with him (albeit not a mako, but hey!) we had a fantastic time!
